The offset process involves feeding sheets of paper into the rollers of a lithographic press. Here, ink from a metal roller is transferred to another roller with a rubber "blanket" covering and then to the paper. The vintage prints offered here were printed using this time honored method where the printing was an "art" in intself. Typically, these prints are the type you see matted and framed under glass with a white border around the image.Though lithography is still commonly used today, giclée printing has largely replaced it as the means by which most fine art prints are made.
